The northeastern sailboat market has taken a beating in recent months, following right in step with uncertainties in the nationwide housing and commodity sectors. Prices are all over the place with seemingly little rhyme or reason.
But every market has its bears and its bulls. So while the majority of sailors will continue to "buy high and sell low", there is an enormous financial opportunity for those who enjoy sailboats and wish to prosper in spite of - and partially because of - the uncertainties. > more info

TIP #1: For best results, be sure to scan through the smaller publications. Small newspapers usually have lower advertising rates, which are attractive to distressed sellers and in some cases, trustees (ie. estate sales, donated yachts, etc.)
TIP #2: Check well outside of your own boating area. Sometimes, a seller will advertise in their hometown but not necessarily where the boat is located. It's a common mistake, and it'll often cause a boat listing to go 'stale', but can result in some outstanding bargains for the savvy buyer.
TIP #3: Flipping sailboats isn't just for investors and businesspeople. With the Sailboat Sales Manual 101, even the most casual boat buyers are saving up to 50% or more on top quality yachts. Why pay rack prices? Why get stuck with a dog? Most sailors expect to lose a little money with each boat, but it doesn't have to be that way. > info
